Choosing a childcare setting is an extremely personal choice and each family has particular needs and wants from a childcare setting. Some families are suited to nurseries, some child minders and some find pre-schools are the perfect choice for them. The key to finding your perfect fit is to think about what values are most important to you and your family and find a setting that share those.

Here are just some of the benefits that we offer our families

• Long opening hours; open 7am-6.30 pm.

• Full day, half day and short day sessions available.

• Flexibility for sessions including Term time only places and ad-hoc sessions.

• Optional Lunch and Tea. You can opt out of nursery meals to keep costs down.

• Sibling and full-time place discounts available.

• Wrap around care when you child goes to school.

• Optional trips out in the community organised regularly.

• Peaceful countryside location with easy access from the A19 for commuters.

• Lovely converted barn setting with a fantastic outside space.

• Great links with local schools and pre-schools.

• Nurturing, imaginative, dedicated and highly qualified team.

We are very strong advocates of teaching children to form healthy habits from the earliest age. We nurture these by prioritising:

Outdoor play and nature bathing

Regular exercise and movement

Mental health and wellbeing

Environment and community links

Friendship and kindness

Acknowledging each child’s unique voice

Our lunch, tea and snack menus are planned to ensure that each meal is packed full of nutrients as well as being delicious. We have one 'plant based' day each week and source all of our meat products from a local butcher ensuring traceability; from farm to fork

Orchard Trees first opened our doors in 2007 and has been serving the local community ever since. I joined the team in 2010 as a newly qualified practitioner and have experience working in every role; from nursery assistant to manager (and everything in between!). I was eventually offered the amazing opportunity to take over the setting in 2017 and so began Orchard Trees Day Nursery as we know it today! I still take an active role in the day to day running of the setting as the manager and working on the ‘shop floor’ with the children. I think that it’s so important that as the head of the setting, I know every child and family and make a special effort to create nurturing relationships with every child in our care.

It is hard-work being the sole Director and manager but having such an amazing team by my side means that I am confident every child is getting the care and attention to help them reach their full potential. We have a small and friendly team of long-standing staff, some of who have been here even longer than I have!

"Running a nursery is so much more than a business to me, I am passionate about giving every child the best possible start in life."
