HEALTHY LIFESTYLES
We are very strong advocates of teaching children to form healthy habits from the earliest age. We nurture these by prioritising:
Outdoor play and nature bathing
Regular exercise and movement
Mental health and wellbeing
Environment and community links
Friendship and kindness
Acknowledging each child’s unique voice
Our lunch, tea and snack menus are planned to ensure that each meal is packed full of nutrients as well as being delicious. We have one 'plant based' day each week and source all of our meat products from a local butcher ensuring traceability; from farm to fork

Orchard Trees first opened our doors in 2007 and has been serving the local community ever since. I joined the team in 2010 as a newly qualified practitioner and have experience working in every role; from nursery assistant to manager (and everything in between!). I was eventually offered the amazing opportunity to take over the setting in 2017 and so began Orchard Trees Day Nursery as we know it today! I still take an active role in the day to day running of the setting as the manager and working on the ‘shop floor’ with the children. I think that it’s so important that as the head of the setting, I know every child and family and make a special effort to create nurturing relationships with every child in our care.
It is hard-work being the sole Director and manager but having such an amazing team by my side means that I am confident every child is getting the care and attention to help them reach their full potential. We have a small and friendly team of long-standing staff, some of who have been here even longer than I have!
