Yes we do, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage statutory regulations which sets out the Welfare Requirements and legislation which all Ofsted registered settings in England must adhere to. Safeguarding is our TOP priority at Orchard Trees and all staff complete 12 hour paediactric first aid training which is renewed every 3 years. We follow safer recruitment procedures including making sure that all employees have a full enhanced DBS check completed before their first day and complete a full 6 month induction process. All members of the team are trained in safeguarding as soon as they start and undertake regular additional training courses to refresh their safeguarding knowlege. We complete daily setting checks and risk assessments to ensure the setting is safe and hazard free and we have a safe and secure video door entry. We renew all of our policies and procedure every year to make sure they are up to date and include all new guidance.

Our SENco works with you, your child’s support team, external agencies and your child’s key person to create a plan and targets to help your child meet their full potential. We can also help you apply for any additional funding and external help. We are also proud to say that we are a Makaton Friendly setting and use Makaton signing daily with all children to aid communication and have visual signs and time tables around the nursery to help children negotiate our setting and routines.
