Our approach

Our fabulous cook prepares a hot, homecooked lunch fresh onsite each day and we serve a lighter meal for tea. We always make sure to include at least 2 portions of vegetables at every meal and the cook creates fabulous menus each week to ensure that all meals are delicious and varied as well as being packed with goodness. You can also choose to bring your own meals from home, either a cold packed lunch or something we can warm in the microwave. Breakfast, snacks and drinks are all included in our prices. All staff have completed Level 2 food hygeine training and are fully knowledgable about safe storage and preperation of food.

Safeguarding is our TOP priority at Orchard Trees and all staff complete 12 hour paediactric first aid training which is renewed every 3 years. We follow safer recruitment procedures including making sure that all employees have a full enhanced DBS check completed before their first day and complete a full 6 month induction process. All members of the team are trained in safeguarding as soon as they start and undertake regular additional training courses to refresh their safeguarding knowlege. We complete daily setting checks and risk assessments to ensure the setting is safe and hazard free and we have a safe and secure video door entry. We renew all of our policies and procedure every year to make sure they are up to date and include all new guidance.

We are registered to care for 88 children on site. Our Baby Owls room maintains a staff: child ratio of 1:3, Little owls 1:4 and Wise Owls 1:8. In addition, the Nursery Manager & Director are always super numerary.

Of course! We pride ourselves on being a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone. Our SENco works with you, your child’s support team, external agencies and your child’s key person to create a plan and targets to help your child meet their full potential. We can also help you apply for any additional funding and external help. We are also proud to say that we are a Makaton Friendly setting and use Makaton signing daily with all children to aid communication and have visual signs and time tables around the nursery to help children negotiate our setting and routines.

Yes, we accept government funding for all eligible 2, 3 & 4 year olds and have a range of options on how you can use this. We offer a limited number of free funded sessions that are reserved for children who’s families are in reciept of certain income-related support, DLA or have an EHCP. Please get in touch with the Manager to find out more. Visit www.childcarechoices.gov.uk to find out what schemes are available to help with your childcare costs.

On top of all the amazing learning experiences that we plan, we provide breakfast at drop off, mid morning and afternoon snack and if you choose to add on meals lunch at 11.30 and tea at 16.00. We have free flow access to water throughout the day and provide milk and milk alternatives at meal an snack times. All nappies, wipes and creams are provided for younger children as well as their own bed sheets and blanket for sleeps. All that you need to provide is any formula/breast milk that your child will need during their day with us.
If you decide that we are the right place for you, simply return the registration forms along with a £50 deposit and we will be in touch to arrange your sessions. We offer a home visit and two free settling in sessions before your child’s first day. What’s more, we are so confident in our exceptional practice you are covered by our Happiness Guarantee!
